ARE YOU A FAKE CHRISTIAN?
There are many professing Christians in the world. According to data, that is around 2.3 billion people. And while that might sound exciting, the plain truth is that not everybody who says they are Christians are true, genuine born-again Christians. Many identify as Christians due to cultural, familial, or traditional reasons without having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ or embracing the core tenets of the faith. True Christianity involves a transformation of the heart, a commitment to living according to God’s Word, and a life changed by the Holy Spirit.
There is a reason why what many regard as the most terrying bible verse exists. This bible verse is from a string of verses containing the words of Jesus founs in
Matthew 7:21:23; 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Let us now contrast the ways of life of a true believer and a false believer. False believers love sin and indulge in it for they have not repented of it. They have not changed their minds of sin. They love the world and its ways of darkness. Sinful behavior is the hallmark of their lives. Nothing has changed within them. At least for the believer, they have repented of sin, if they happen to fall in it, not presumptuously, not willfully they will repent and turn to God.. a false believer however doesn’t care. He or she will willfully sin. They are not devoted to God. One can be living like the devil monday to sunday, no repentance, no brokenness of sin, no change of attitude toward sin, no desire to please God, none of that and it won’t bother them. In fact for them it's okay to live in it, they’’ habitually live like the world, and still married and in love with the world, but hey, im a “christian” they’ll say why because i go to church, and hey i was born in a christian family. or I once said a prayer once and I'm on my way to heaven. True believers have the Holy Spirit, and false believers do not. That means true believers have been born again, John 3: 3 says “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. they have been given a new nature by God; they have been converted, they are in the realm of the Spirit and their minds are set on what the Holy spirit desires. As this verse says. Their minds ARE not set on what the flesh desires. In the book of galatians it is written Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. 8The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
You heard that right? But the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Those that are true believers will desire to do and they will do the will of God, which is holiness hence the term whoever sows to please the Spirit. Sowing to please the Spirit is essentially living a life devoted to pleasing God in every way as you are empowered by the SPIRIT of God. It's what walking in the light is. True believers live for righteousness and holiness, the general direction of their lives is that of pleasing God. They don't love worldliness and they Don't sit comfortably in sin. If they were to sin, God would so would them with conviction they’d repent and renounce that thing so as to continue a life of righteousness. Pal maybe False believers however, do not have the Holy Spirit. They have the flesh (which is the sinful nature) and Their mind is set on pleasing the desires of the flesh as this verse says, which is all manner of sin. The works of the flesh, includeThe acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; 20idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, and rage; rivalries, divisions, factions, 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
As i said earlier this has to do with the way of life, the way smeone habitually consudcts himself. If their life is marked with these world of the flesh, then they need to repent . if u do not actively live a life that pleases God, then you probably ARE disconnected from the life of the Spirit.. BUT if you are truly born again and are living in accordance to God’s will you’ll be led by the spirit of God, it's gonna be a lifestyle, a way of life seeking to live an appealing life to God . THAT’s why you’re told to keep in step with the Spirit. Gal 5:24- 25 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us walk in step with the Spirit.
This is very very serious. Many people want God’s heaven but they hate his ways, they hate his laws, they hate the narrow road, they hate God’s light and love the darkness. bUt at the end of the day they want God’ heaven. They want the short lived, temporary, pleasures of sin, they want the beautifully paved broad road to hell, where you can indulge in all the pleasures and desires of your heart but the problem with the road to hell is that it’s destination is hell. God has always repaid people according to their works. … or to sum it all up.. True believers are set apart and false believers are common.
False believers are no different from the world, they act live and love the world. True believers are set apart, they are uncommon, they are holy people, they are a separate people. If you have read the whole new testament you’ll notice this theme. There two kinds of people are Holy people which are God’s people and unholy people those that belong to the world. God’s people are commanded to be Holy like God verse. To be unlike the world in any way shape or form. This is the definition of the word HOLY.
