RELY OF GOD'S WORD

Just as God is unchanging, so is His holy Word. We are told in the book of Hebrews:

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." (Hebrews 13:8)

And in Malachi, the Lord declares:

"For I am the Lord, I do not change." (Malachi 3:6)

God is eternally the same. Likewise, Scripture affirms that God's Word is unchanging, just as He is. In verses such as:

Matthew 24:35 – "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."

Isaiah 40:8 – "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever."

We also know that God's Word is the Word of truth—just as Jesus Himself is the truth.

John 14:6 – "Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’"

What is the nature of truth? Truth is unchanging; it remains the same forever. You and I know very well that no one goes against the truth and succeeds. We have no other choice but to accept it. If you try to fight against it, eventually, whether you like it or not, it will catch up with you. In the same manner, you do not argue with God’s Word—you can only accept it. His Word is the standard. It is the final authority. Because of its unchanging nature, it can be relied upon. No matter how we feel, it is still the truth and remains the ultimate standard.

One preacher once said that we should tell our hearts to shut up as we preach God’s Word to it so that His Word becomes a greater reality in our lives than what we see in the mirror. Jeremiah 17:9 warns us:

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?"

Therefore, you must rely on the Word of God alone! When we put our trust in God and His pure Word, He becomes our shield.

Psalm 91:4 reminds us:

"His truth shall be your shield and buckler."
